Meet Cody Ashbury
Cody Ashbury is the pen name for co-authors Brandon Wardell and Jennifer Flaig, who met at a Midwestern community college when their offices happened to be across the hall from each other. It’s highly likely that shared interests in gum, coffee, and LEGOs are what brought them together long enough to realize they could be writing partners. They eventually collaborated on an unpublished work of nonfiction before turning their attention to a project Brandon had started years earlier with his family. With Brandon’s creative vision and Jennifer’s research and editing skills, they brought The Bed Heads: Life’s a Trip to fruition.
Brandon Wardell
Brandon lives in Wyoming with his wife and four daughters. He has been writing since his teens. His favorite band is the Grateful Dead, which will not surprise you if you’ve taken a look at the book.
Jennifer Flaig
Jennifer lives in Illinois with her family, including two cats who enjoy sitting in front of her keyboard while she’s trying to write. She has participated in National Novel Writing Month since 2018 and is currently working on a horror novel crossover. She has confirmed with Grateful Dead archivist, David Lemieux, via Twitter, that “Dead Head” is two words, although “Deadhead” is popularly used.
